Taylor Morrison Home Corp., a national homebuilder based in Arizona, plans to build its second Houston-area active adult community, an increasingly popular housing sector. The new 268 acre Bonterra community will be at Cross Creek Ranch in Fulshear, south of Katy, It will include many of the same amenities and floor plans of the original Bonterra, as well as two new features: a gated neighborhood and waterfront home sites.
Last summer, Bonterra at Woodforest held its grand opening. That 257 acre community is located between The Woodlands and Conroe, and is expected to contain 700 homes.
Both Bonterra communities are for active seniors 55 years old and up. Before building in Bonterra at Woodforest, Taylor Morrison conducted surveys and focus groups with active seniors to find out what they wanted in their homes. The company incorporated those findings into the Bonterra homes.
Some of the senior friendly amenities in the Bonterra at Woodforest homes include covered rear patios, security system contacts at doors and windows, and comfort height toilets in the master bathrooms.
